Stay home this Holiday season but stay glam. I love that the neckline on this jumpsuit allows for a bold statement necklace. I chose a rich purple pendant to compliment the lush green velvet.

While you are enjoying your time at home why not indulge in a festive cocktail? Bubbles are my drink of choice and I included a recipe for one of my current favourite winter drinks. This is a twist on a French 75 called a French 95 where bourbon is used instead of gin. For sweetness instead of plain simple syrup I used a honey simple syrup. Some French 95 recipes include orange juice but for I have really been into pear juice recently so substituted with that. You can do this recipe with or without the fruit juice.

Ingredients:

Honey Syrup

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup water

  • Bourbon and Honey French 75

  • 1 ounce bourbon whiskey

  • 1 ounce pear juice (optional)

  • 3/4 ounce honey syrup

  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

  • Champagne or prosecco

  • Pear Slices

Instructions:

Honey Syrup

  • In a saucepan, mix honey and water.

  • Heat about 2 minutes over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until honey is dissolved.

  • Remove from heat; and set aside at least an 1 hour to cool.

  • Pour syrup into glass jar. Cover jar; refrigerate until ready to use. Makes about 1/2 cup.

Cocktail

  • Add the bourbon, pear juice, honey syrup and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice; shake well.

  • Pour into a cocktail glass.

  • Top with Champagne.

  • Garnish with pear slices.
