Orange Lipsticks

Is anyone else still wearing lipstick these days? Personally I still love a good lip colour to complete an outfit. While a bold red lip is my usual go to for a statement lip, orange and coral is becoming a Spring favourite.

I thought I would share my thoughts on a few orange lipsticks I have been reaching for.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte in First Light (shade 64) - this is a bright, medium orange-red with warm undertones. Although this lipstick has the word matte in its name the luminous is where they get you, meaning this is almost matte. To me this has more of a satin finish. This lipstick glides on easily almost like a balm with a smooth texture without being too slippery. The color coverage in a single layer is good. It is not fully opaque with some translucency still. I did notice some of the color settled in my lip lines but this was not noticeable from a distance. This shade lasted well for a few hours. This did not feel drying not the lips.

This lipstick was a surprise win for me. When I saw the lipstick color in the tube it is very bright and I did not think it would be flattering on me. However, since it is not fully opaque the shade worked well with my skin tone to create a flattering shade.

Smashbox Always on Cream to Matte in Trending - this is a bright, orange-coral with warm undertones. Although I typically prefer a satin finish lipstick these days a good matte that stays put is a must. These Smashbox lipsticks are amazing! These have the full-coverage pigment of a liquid lipstick but apply like a traditional lipstick. These lipsticks are infused with a Primer Oil Complex so they are not drying. After trying their red matte lipstick last year I quickly bought several more shades including this orange. For a matte lipstick this is still comfortable to wear and lasts through eating and drinking. This shade lasted well for a few hours. This did not feel drying not the lips.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Tell Laura - This is a medium-dark orange-red with warm undertones and a matte finish. This lipstick is opaque with rich color payoff, it would be hard to get sheer coverage with this formula. This applies smoothly and evenly. This has a matte finish. The formula on this lipstick feels a bit thicker than the rest but did not feel drying. This shade lasted well for a few hours. This is my usual go-to orange lipstick.

Hope this was helpful and you find a lipstick you may enjoy trying!
