Chanel SS21 Makeup Review
If you follow me on instagram you know I am a big fan of Chanel. I used to wear mainly Chanel makeup when I was younger since that’s what my mom would buy but as I got older I deviated toward other brands.
While looking online I came across some of their new Spring beauty products. I have always loved the details on Chanel makeup, particularly the embossed details on their palette products. The attention to detail is always exquisite. When I saw their new Spring Summer 2021 makeup launch I was curious to try out their new lipstick formula and blush/highlighter duo.
The Rouge Allure Laque are Chanel’s new satin liquid lipstick. These lipsticks have medium coverage but are buildable. I have only tried one shade but it has a natural finish with some shine. The lipstick feels light and comfortable on the lips and are not drying. These come with a sponge tip applicator which is easy to use. There are 20 shades in this range. The downside to this lipstick is that they are not budge-proof. They will transfer to a mask or cup however even though they transfer they do leave a nice subtle stain on the lips.
The Fleur de Printemps Blush and Highlighter duo is a really stunning combination. Currently I am loving peach blushes so this duo was calling my name. The highlighter was a pale peach pink shimmer while the blush has more of a warm orange undertone. I love the blush on its own. The blush has a subtle shimmer which is perfect for a natural glowy look. Not all Chanel skin products are very pigmented but this blush has great pigmentation. It is buildable and blends nicely with my base products. Although the highlighter is quite light it does not look chalky on my skin tone. Chanel products tend to work better with light skin tones so it is nice to see that it works for a medium-deep skin tone. I think this blush would work with deeper skin tones but not sure how the highlighter will be.
If you were to only try one product from the Chanel Spring makeup launch I definitely recommend the blush and highlighter duo. The colors are truly gorgeous. Although I have a lot of makeup these products were not too similar to anything I already had and were a great addition.
I used my standard base products I mentioned in my post Glow where I discuss my daily makeup. I only substituted the blush and lipstick. For mascara I am using the new Bite Beauty Mascara which I will review soon!
If you have tried these out let me know what you think!
