Inn at Laurel Point Weekend Staycation

Travel has always played a large role in my life. As a child my parents loved to travel and would take us where ever they went. I love experiencing different cultures, food and languages. 2020 was a hard year for everyone and although I could discuss all the negatives I learnt a lot about myself and shifting my perspectives on activities I enjoy. In the past when it came to travel I was instantly booking a flight somewhere new. Over the last year I came to realize how lucky I am to live on Vancouver Island and that I needed to enjoy all the Island has to offer.

With travel within our province opening up I wanted to support local and experience a staycation in Victoria British Columbia. For our stay we decided to stay at Inn at Laurel Point. Spring on Vancouver Island is a gorgeous time and this mini getaway let me have some time to recharge and unwind from my daily work at the hospital.

Disclosure: This stay was kindly provided by the hotel. All thoughts and opinions are always my own.

Inn at Laurel Point

Inn at Laurel Point is a downtown waterfront hotel in Victoria located along the inner harbour.

What I love about the hotel is that all rooms have private balconies and offer water views. The property is slightly outside of the central inner harbour which makes the area quiet to stay inl .

The hotel also has an indoor pool.

Afternoon Tea

Inn at Laurel Point are currently offering a feature called Inn at Home. Inn at Home has a great selection of items available for curbside pick up which you can enjoy at home. This feature both sweet and savoury options. We tried the Afternoon Tea picnic box which was delicious and discussed in my dedicated afternoon tea post.

Dining

Inn at Laurel Point’s on site restaurant is Aura Waterfront Restaurant and patio.

During our stay we got to enjoy the hotel’s pop up patio.

Aura has now re-opened and are offering ‘Small plates Brunch & Tea’ from 11.30am-3.30pm on the weekends. Aura has been a long time favourite restaurant of mine. I like the asian fusion cuisine.

What to do in the Area

Fisherman’s Warf

A close walk from the hotel is Fisherman’s Wharf. Since I was a child I have always loved a visit to the Wharf. The Wharf offers food kiosks, and eco-tour adventures. Personal favourite food kiosks are the fish and chips, oysters and ice cream.

There are also plenty of fun float homes to check out some of which house small boutiques.

Beacon Hill Park and Dallas Road

I love that this lovely park and walk are so close and accessible from downtown. Dallas road is one of my favourite places to take a stroll.

Il Covo Trattoria

Il Covo Trattoria is a close walk from the hotel and serves delicious authentic Italian dishes. My favourite place to sit is in the garden patio.
